Jim Irsay again has strange comments regarding Jonathan Taylor situation

The situation surrounding Jonathan Taylor's pursuit of a new contract, along with his push to get healthy and return from injury, has been a key talking point this offseason. But no one has made more headlines on the topic of Taylor than Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.

The most noteworthy comment came after the buzz surrounding Taylor's unhappiness with his contract when Irsay stated the following, per ESPN.

"If I die tonight and Jonathan Taylor is out of the league, no one's gonna miss us," Irsay said. "The league goes on. We know that. The National Football League rolls on. It doesn't matter who comes and who goes, and it's a privilege to be a part of it."

Irsay also stated that the Colts will not trade Taylor, essentially doing his best to end the trade chatter and hopes of that potential outcome for the running back. 

But during Saturday's preseason game between the Colts and Chicago Bears, Irsay addressed the Taylor situation again with a very different approach, to put it lightly.

As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed, Irsay stated the team is "looking forward to him playing his way into being the Jonathan Taylor he was."
