The sour taste from Saturday's last-second loss to No. 6 Ohio State got even worse for Notre Dame after replays of the game's deciding play revealed an epic blunder by the Irish.
With seconds to go, Notre Dame's defense had only 10 players on the field for Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum's go-ahead score.

Emmanuel Ocho of ESPN noticed something alarming to make matters worse for the Irish. Not only was Notre Dame missing a player on the game's final play, but they also had only 10 men on the field for the previous down, which resulted in an incompletion from Ohio State QB Kyle McCord.
WAIT! You have to see this!!!

Notre Dame played with *only 10 players* TWO PLAYS IN A ROW!!!
HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS MISTAKE!!??#OhioStateBuckeyes #NotreDame pic.twitter.com/UK70CMtkYt
Notre Dame's defense had come up big earlier in the quarter, stifling Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka on an end-around try on fourth down with 4:12 to go. While the play seemed like a momentum shifter the Irish's way, the unit's gaffe with the game on the line quickly overshadowed it.
